Pile stabilization in Ottawa

When a foundation, porch or addition keeps settling, patching the cracks does not stop the movement. Piles carry the load down to ground that is not moving.

What the job includes

✓
Assessment of what is moving and why, with an engineer where the load calls for one
✓
Helical or screw piles driven below the unstable soil, with torque monitored on every pile
✓
Brackets and lifting to restore level where the structure allows it
✓
Cracks, parging and finishes repaired once the movement has stopped

How it goes

STEP 1
Free on-site look
We check drainage, base and the real cause — then price it in writing.
STEP 2
Scheduled and confirmed
You get a date, a crew size, and a text the day before.
STEP 3
Built, cured, cleaned up
Site cleared daily, cure times explained, workmanship warrantied.
The Ottawa factor
Frost and swelling clay move shallow footings every winter. Piles that bear below the frost line and the weak soil stop the seasonal movement instead of just hiding it.

Pile stabilization — where we do it

Pile stabilization — questions we get a lot

+What is pile stabilization and when do I need it?
It means supporting part of a structure on piles driven to stable ground. You need it when a foundation, porch, deck or addition is still settling, tilting or pulling away from the house, and repairing cracks alone has not stopped the movement.
+Why do homes in Stittsville and Kanata settle?
It depends on the soil. Stittsville sits on till and bedrock-influenced ground where settlement follows uneven bedrock depth, while parts of Kanata sit on marine clay that shrinks in dry summers and swells back. Either way the footing moves, and piles are one way to take the load past it.
+Do I need an engineer or a permit for piles?
Often, yes, for structural work. Piles that support a house wall or an addition are normally designed by an engineer, and a building permit may apply. We tell you before we start whether your project needs one so there are no surprises.
+Can piles be installed without excavating my whole yard?
In many cases, yes. Helical piles are screwed in with compact equipment, so they usually disturb far less ground than a traditional dig-out. Access, buried services and the depth to firm soil decide what is practical on your lot.
+Will pile stabilization fix my cracked foundation wall?
It stops the movement that caused the cracks. Once the structure is stable, we repair the cracks themselves with injection and restore the finish, so the repair holds.
