Concrete polishing — questions we get a lot

+Can any concrete floor be polished?
Most sound slabs can. Old paint, thick coatings, deep spalling and moisture problems need to be dealt with first, and very rough or patched slabs may not take an even finish. We check the floor in person and tell you honestly before quoting.
+Is polished concrete slippery?
It can be when wet, so for garages and entries we finish to a lower sheen or add a slip-resistant sealer. Sheen and traction can be balanced to the way you use the space.
+Can you polish a garage or basement floor?
Yes. Garage and basement slabs are the most common jobs. In a garage we also check for cracks and surface scaling and can pair polishing with concrete repair or garage floor work.
+How long does concrete polishing take?
Most residential floors take one to three days depending on the area, the condition of the slab and the finish level. The floor can usually be walked on right after sealing, and we give you a firm timeline when we quote.
+How do I care for a polished concrete floor?
Dust-mop and damp-mop with a neutral cleaner, wipe up salt and spills, and avoid acidic cleaners. The sealer can be refreshed over the years, and the floor can be re-polished if it dulls.
